Just slide

IBM has developed a fascinating new way of deepening ones knowledge of Philip Glass' pieces or to simply find out about them in the first place. Their "Glass Engine" enables you to playfully navigate through more than sixty of his works. The system uses a range of sliding bars, which are pegged to different attributes of the music, such as the works length, release year, "intensity" or "density". You could also try to find compositions which are "joyful" or, rather, "sad". By dragging your mouse from left to right, the engine searches for the work corresponding to the current position on the bar (e.g. a very "fast" piece) and instantaneously displays all of its other characteristics. This may sound a bit difficult, but it's incredibly simple and works for IE 4.5+. The only thing you can not do, unfortunately, is listen to excerpts.
Now, go and find out how much you know about one of modern musics most momentous mentors.
