Misery Speaks are the band who surprised me most this year. I had the chance to see them in concert on the occasion of their album release show in Münster; the funny thing is that I went there to see I The Unlord and not Misery Speaks… And I must confess that they completely blew me away on stage - and so does their brand new album “Disciples of Doom”.
For a German band, they sound really Swedish; not a real surprise, as their third album was actually recorded in Pärlby, Sweden by producer Jonas Kjellgren, well known for having worked with bands like Sonic Syndicate & Scar Symmetry.
Doom & Death are worshipped on this album throughout ten groovy and catchy songs; Misery Speaks are showing several faces, brutal and melodic. They also have some pretty unforgettable Guitars riffs on offer… Moreover, Przemek Golomb (Vocals)´s performance suits them perfectly, although he only joined the band last summer.
Misery Speaks rocks! “So raise your hands and praise the lords”!
