Review/ Falchion: "Chronicles of the Dead"
TobiasFALCHION is a great newcomer on the Melodic Death Metal scene. Chronicles of the Dead is the second album of these young lads from Finland.
FALCHION has this typical Scandivanian Melodic Death Metal sound which you'll instantly recognise; the album was recorded at Adamantium Studios, Tampere. The group plays fast and extreme with vocals right in the middle between black and death tones; Add to that excellent melodic passages reminding of Dark Tranquility or Amorphis.
You won´t remain insensitive to veritable anthems like “Chronicles of the Dead” and “Kingdom Of Dust”. And there's more: Falchion surprises with Trash/Heavy influence on titles like “Shadows In The Wasteland” and “Desert Breeze”. “Mayhem Machine”, on the other hand, impresses with two minutes of pure guitar bliss.
You´ll be able to see them perform live in Europa accompanying Korpoklaani on the Finnish Fire Tour in November/December.
