us Withered: "Folie Circulaire" continues the onslaught

Atlanta-based Extreme Metal outfit Withered are about to publish the follow-up to their widely respected debut “Memento Mori”. "Folie Circulaire" was produced by Phillip Cope and includes a total of ten tracks, including a cover of Necrophobic’s “Into Armageddon” (“If you're not already a fan of them, you need to be. They're in our top friends and some of the best black metal to ever come out of Sweden”, according to Withered, “Big thanks to them for being very cool about us recording their song and for writing it in the first place”) as well as a collaboration with Napalm Death’s Barney Greenway (“As always, his vocals are amazing and can't wait for everyone to hear them”). The first track to be pre-published off "Folie Circulaire" is now available from the Withered MySpace site, as well as from the pages of Proesthetic Records. “Fated Breath” is a spikey Death Metal track replete with machine gun drumming and some regal Stoner riffs, burning equally on speed and majesty.

Slated for a June 24th release on Prosthetic Records, "Folie Circulaire" (the French term for bipolar disorder) is the result of a meticulous and strenous studio session: “The recording process was grueling but worth every 12-16 hour day. Phillip Cope and the guys at The Jam Room did a great job of keeping us focused and capturing our sound. It really shows on the record”, according to Withered, “Scott Hull (Visceral Sound/Pig Destroyer) also did a great job with the mastering and sequencing. It's relentless and we couldn't be happier.”

Incidentally (or not), Phillip Cope is also a member of Kylesa, who are accompanying Withered on their ongoing tour, which has been running since January of 2008 and taken the band across the USA. With even the New York Times lavishly praising its predecessor, "Folie Circulaire" is now already one of the more eagerly awaited Metal albums of this year.
