Play! Dance! Paint!

Combining different media forms has become something of a habit or a "must" in modern music circles, with hardly a laptop artists appearing on stage without an accompanying video show. Even though the curators of "Spring Reverb" seem to take a similar route, really their approach is quite different: Music, Dance and (Visual) Art are presented either independently of each other or in different combinations, depending on the current context. There will also be workshops and a visual arts exhibit, to be presented at the "alta voz" project. The festival's main organisor Marcos Fernandes has invited those artists, that in his eye offer "a unique approach unfettered by any unifying philosophy - no dogmas, simply a committment to artistic exploration, freedom, and the creative process." The list of participating artists from this edition as well as the previous three years show what he means by this and contains quite a few names readers of "mouvement nouveau" will recognise, such as Jeff Kaiser (appeared in 2003) and Jeremy Drake (watch out for him in 2005!). Proceedings start June 2nd.
