Van Cliburn competition enters the digital age

We don't want to waste your time reiterating how special the Van Cliburn competition is and how many outstanding pianists have started their careers with a triumph here (Olga Kern would be a recent example). While Van Cliburn himself, perfectly mannered and of excellent taste always, is one of the representatives of the "old school", his foundation has decided to start the future right now. Every single note of every single concert performed at this year's Van Cliburn competition will be streamed to surfers worldwide entirely for free. Video and audio downloads will be available on the site. The only thing you need to do is register and make sure you've got a decent internet connection. Ceremonies will kick off with a Gala Dinner on May 19th and the first round starts immediately the day after. As competitors come from the most diverse countries, this year's event should once again provide a good overview of who one should watch in the world of Classical piano-playing.
