Coil: Ape of Naples Box almost sold out
Coil's long-announced and eagerly awaited „Ape of Naples Box“ has not yet been released – and has already all but sold out. Important Records have strongly recommended for anyone not wanting to miss out on this item to preorder quickly, while it is still possible. The „Ape of Naples Box“ represents the Vinyl pressing of the album by the same name, spread out over six sides, each with a B-side laser etching and a full-length fourth bonus disc. The latter will be titled „The New Backwards“ and contain new „backwards mixes“ of the Coil material. Important Records have already provided some pics as well as the exact specs of this veritable collector's item: „Each LP is packaged in an offset printed single pocket jacket and they're housed in a deluxe heavy duty box which was offset printed w/ a 5th color spot UV gloss. A poster is also included in the package.“ The special position of Coil in the experimental scene is further emphasised by the fact that despite its collossal dimension and its Vinyl-format, the „super lavish package“ enclosed in „a tip-on style ultra-heavy duty box set.“ and a limitation to still 1.500 copies, these were all gone in a rush.
The exact street date of the „Ape of Naples Box“ is still not 100% confirmed yet, as Important Records are still in the process of perfecting last details. Label founder John: „We don't have the vinyl here yet as there are some slight concerns with the test pressings but should have that resolved soon.“ Until then, he has plenty of time to enjoy the laurels of being awarded the „Label of the Year“ distinction by the readers of Brainwashed Magazine.
