It sounded like a dream come true, now it is has turned into a collector's nightmare: The re-release of German drone project Troum's „Sen“ album (originally released as part of Staalplaat's Mort aux Vaches-series way back in 2000) has already sold out. Equation Records was able to spread a little hope, though: „I do have a couple of unnumbered promotional copies left (picture disc & tan versions) that I did not have time to send to whoever - so drop me an email if you want one of these (they are complete with inserts and Velcro-fastened sleeve).“ Then again, no wonder. The reissue of „Sen“ is, as the label puts it, „surely is the most luxurious vinyl release we have so far created“ and comes in three different versions: As a Clear vinyl disc with sepia haze (97 copies) on 180g virgin vinyl, as Tan with halo vinyl (147 copies) and finally as a Picture Discs pressed in a run of 217 copies. Troum member Baraka[H] called it the best looking Troum record ever and went so far as to claim that „it is probably the most beautiful LP record in my whole collection!“ Troum fans will now have to check with online retailers like Aquarius (USA) and Drone Records (Germany) to still stand a chance.
The artwork was a difficult job in its own right. Again realised by eyelyft, who also created the cover design to the most recent Troum release „AIWS“, it uses the entire Vinyl disc's surface and forced Equation to search hard for a printer able to print it. Next to the visual bonanza, subtle remastering has perfected the sound to the band's full satisfaction.
To accompany the release, eyelyft has shot a promotional video, which already provides some information on what to expect.
