Robots take over
TobiasThe makers of one of the latest Hollywood blockbusters, "I Robot", apparently finished their film ahead of schedule - because the real soundtrack is only now being made available by net label Infinite Sector. The outfit which features their entire catalog as a free MP3-download and covers a wide range of styles from clicks n cuts, industrial noise, sound collages to funky electronic mashups, now offers "Traditional Robot Music Vol II" (we're not quite sure what happened to Vol I). On this compilation, artists from the Infinite Sector collective give their view on how machine music really could sound like and let robots do the talking. The result is fresh and futuristic and gives a good introduction to an incredibly diverse and creative bunch of people. Broken Androids "Robot marching" relies on a warm bass and splinters of broken samples, "A Clockwork Tiranny" by AdDM allows listeners to dive into a world of weird noises, pulsating bleeps and detuned guitars and Mystified invites us to his mysteriously droning "Droid Plant". There's more and it's there for you to discover.
