In the Footsteps of Jarre
TobiasAfter a lot of wrangling, announcements as well as promises kept and broken, Warner has finally released the 2DVD version of Jean-Michel Jarre's concert in Bejing, "in the heart of the Forbidden City and Tian'anmen Square". Simply entitled "Live in Bejing", the set features the full concert, an audio CD with extracts and a further DVD packed with bonus material. Reactions to the concert, which concentrated on a subtle mix of old and new favourites and even a short excursion into Vivaldi-territory, had been exclusively positive and now the event can be watched at home, while enjoying 5.1. Dolby Digital Sorround Sound. Jarre is accompanied by some 260 musicians, from the Bejing Symphony Orchestra, the Chinese National Orchestra and the Bejing Opera Choir. Bonus Material includes a documentary, "In the footsteps of the last Emperor", which documents the strenous organisation of the show. In the official Jarre-forum fans have been going crazy over the release, praising its superb audio and video quality. It will be out in most of the world from June 6th.
