Review/ Ultra Vomit: "Objectif: Thunes"

Is that the soundtrack to the new South Park movie? What is this - a metal parody?! Are they from Belgium… no from France!… and it is damn funny! I never thought that one day I would have so much fun listening to a metal album.

Although Ultra Vomit are extremely childish, they succeed in making you laugh. There are in-jokes for every metal genre: hardcore, black metal, classic death metal, grind metal… Ultra Vomit give a tribute to metal classics like “Immortal”, “Cannibal Corpse”, “Mötorhead”, “Chimaira”, “Dimmu Borgir”, “Coal Chamber” or chanson française, and a regional celebrety from the South of France, Maité! “Putaing con!”.

One the highlight of the album, for me, is “Mountains Of Maths”, a great take on Immortal´s “Mountains Of Mights”. Just a tiny problem: The jokes are in French… but don't worry, some titles like “Jack Chirac” or “Cannibal Corpse” will definitely also make the non-french speaker laugh.

Objectif: Thunes is a carricature, but also real tribute to all metal genres, as such, it´s simply great.
