Review/ Convent: "Abandon your Lord"

img  Tobias

After a few years of abstinence, Convent are back with 10 blasphemous tracks, complemented by a combustible sound and demonic riffs coming straight from Satan himself. The album, “Abandon your Lord” can be understood as a clear invitation to the crusade against Christianity. The lyrics, however, avoid the clichés of most “Satanist” bands. The result is really professional; Convent are playing a straightforward type of Death Metal.

As a wonderful bonus track, the band have recoded a tribute to Slayer's “Season of the abyss” with a Philharmonic orchestra, dedicated to the memory of the former musicians who passed away. A digipack version is available with an amazing 12-page booklet with special artwork.

A real Death Metal/Satanist explosion.
