Quartet New Generation: Get their kicks on Route 66

The Quartet New Generation are back in the USA again. One of the more media-savvy recorder ensembles of the planet has just embarked on an almost month-long tour, which will take its member from New York to Detroit. “We started our tour yesterday in Princeton University with a premiere of the piece “Mortal Flesh” by Paul Moravec”, Andrea, Hannah, Heide and Susi told us, “Furthermore we will visit six states covering the West to the East coast and we are looking forward to meeting great audiences. Our performances will be in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit and Rhinebeck. Another world premiere of a new work written for QNG will be Simon Fink´s “The Kick Galvanic - Straight to My Lover’s Heart” in Chicago.” The tour comes on the wings of excellent reviews for the Quartet’s latest album, “ethereal”, which has been prominently featured in many European woodwind publications and was given highest marks by Germany’s classical magazine Fono Forum.

Next to promoting “ethereal”, the Quartet New Generation also finished recording an album for Swiss recorder manufacturer Küng, which will be available from their booth at the upcoming Frankfurt Music Fair. No details on the content of that Mini-album yet, but the connection to Küng has been a long-standing one, in which both parties have profited from the other’s input and suggestions.
