A new conceptional series

Till Kniola, whom most will know under his longstanding pseudonym Zipo has added another brick to his already impressive wall of events: Apart from the regular concerts organised under the "auf abwegen" moniker (meaning something like "far from the downtrodden paths") and his regular "geräuschwelten" ("worlds of noise") nights, he has now started a new project which will take place at the beginning of every month. The idea is really very simple: First, a visual artists will present either pictures, movies or even fashion, then, an audio artists will feature corresponding sounds - which can be mere noises or sounds up to spoken word performances. The main purpose of the series is offering artists a platform on which to present their thoughts and to foster discussion on them.

First in the series will be Nik Kern (see picture), a Munich born artist, who has studied in Stuttgart, Montpellier, Glasgow and Cologne and has a long record of installations, exhibitions and participations at video festivals. The motto of the evening taking place on June 7th at the Fotoraum in Cologne, will be "Familiar visitation", a journey through a kitschy dream land and a materialised vision.
