In an Interview for the German daily "Merkur Online", Mexican Opera star Rolando Villazon has enlightened readers about what he would like to sing in ten years: Wagner! Without risk, things would be too smooth, Villazon remarked and admitted that his "Don Jose" under Daniel Barenboim might have been a little too early, strictly judging by the facts. Still, any other approach, he felt, meant to reduce Opera to routine and, ultimately, boredom. For the same reason, he refused to see his Southamerican collegues, such as Alvarez, Vargas and Alagnaas competitors, but rather as an enrichment. There was no place for envy in his life, Villazon claimed.

In Munich, Rolando Villazon will be performing "Faust" on July 27th and 30th and give a concert on June 19th.
