Robert Schroeder returns

It's been quite some time: The last we heard from Robert Schroeder was all the way back in 1998, when he released a collection of early pieces entitled "D.MO Vol.1", but never followed that up with a "Vol.2" or new material. As one of the leaders of the "second generation" of electronic artists, Schroeder had released classic albums such as "Brain Voyager" and "Timewaves" and his three LPs from the 90s, which featured an even clearer and reduced style, had fostered hope that he might finally break through on a wider scale. It never happened and Schroeder withdrew to pursue other projects. Of course, he never really retired from composing and finished work on "brainCHIPS" last year. Already Robert's 14th album, it is said to rely on the contrast between Schroeder's trade-mark mixture of analogue synths, grooving rhythms, sequencer magic and guitar leads and ethno-influences provided by singer Rahal Brimil, who sings in seven languages and even combines them in one single track. Probably in order not to shock fans too much, the album will be released as a vocal- and nonvocal version by the excellent German label spheric music by Lambert Ringlage, himself a dedicated musician. We hope to be able to give you more information when the release month of September draws nearer.
