Swedish Mezzo Tove Dahlberg will play the main character in Philippe
Boesmans new Opera "Julie". Based upon a Strindberg-story and featuring
a cast of only three, the concept evolves around delusions, secret love
and "the results of a strange education". All of this will take place
in Brussel-based Opera-house "De Munt" ("The Coin") at the end of
March.
At the same time, the "Conseil de la Musique de la Communauté française" is publishing a book on Boesman, based on interviews on his artistic ideas, which should make for an interesting read. Title: Philippe Boesmans, Entretiens et témoignages, which means you'll need a bit of French to get the meaning. If your Dutch is ok, then check out more info on "Julie" here. And you'll only need comand of the English language to read about Tove at her management's homepage.
