Dutch Budget-label Brilliant Classics is up for the 250-year celebration of Mozarts birthday. Praised for their complete editions of famous composers, which have managed to bring classical music where it never dared to go before, the Leeuwarden-based company is repeating and even topping its 2002 stunt by issueing absolutely everything bis the Austrian master - and this time on SACD. Half of the repertoire was recorded anew and the other half compiled off different labels, such as BIS and Hungaroton. The second main difference with the previous installment is its packaging: No more double CD jewel boxes, but carton wallets inside boxes, which makes for a more space-saving and elegant look. And now to the most important part of the message: The price! A quick check found the box to be at a mere 37.99€ at jpc - another unbeatable offer.
