Just having completed his monumental "Light"-composition, which took 27
years to write and lasts for 29 hours, depicting the days of the week,
Karl-Heinz Stockhausen has set out for a new endeavour, commissioned by
the Art Foundation of Milan. This time, the 24 hours of the day will be
the theme and the instrumentarium will consist of organ or synthesizer,
sopran and tenor. We don't know of the piece will indeed last for a
whole day, but it seems to be definite that you will not have to wait
quite that long this time to hear the result: The premiere is scheduled
for the 5. 5. 2005 in the Milan Cathedral.
