„Klaus Schulze – Electronic Music Legend“ will be the title of a soon to be published book on one of the most prominent personalities of electronic music over the past 30 years. American author Greg Allen has collected a plethora of interviews with plenty of Klaus Schulze's colleagues and collaborators, written full-length CD reviews on Schulze's humungous catalogue of recordings and dug up some previously unpublished pictures from the archives. Possibly the first serious in-depth attempt at approaching the work of the German composer, „Klaus Schulze – Electronic Music Legend“ is not so much a standard biography, but rather a panopticum of stories, annecdotes and personal points of view on an artist who has been an influential figure for all major developments in electronic music for the past three decades: The fusion of Rock with Synthesizers, Techno and House, Sampling and the inclusion of Ethno influences.
Interview partners for „Klaus Schulze – Electronic Music Legend“ include Harald Grosskopf (Ashra Tempel drummer and a sidekick to some of Schulze's early masterpieces), Arthur Browne (who contributed vocals to the often overlooked Avantgarde work „Dune“), Joerg Schaaf (a studio wizzard responsible for a lot of the 90s engineering and programming) and many more. Greg Allen has also conducted a brand-new interview with Klaus Schulze himself for the book and talked to Schulze's „manager“ Klaus D. Müller (he himself prefers calling it: bringing order into the chaos), who has accompanied his career since the earliest days – and documented it as a professional photographer.
At 323 pages, the book looks to be a treaure trove for fans, who, until now, could only turn to the regular (and highly recommended, by the way) „Klaus Schulze Circle“ newsletter for information. „Klaus Schulze – Electronic Music Legend“ is now available for preorder at online distribution house erock and will hit streets in April.
