Good news for fans of the Einstürzende Neubauten, the band that started the Industrial movement together with Throbbing Gristle: One of their members, Alexander Hacke, has just released a solo CD called "Sanctuary". It is the result of an intense time of travelling the globe, meeting up with friends, hooking up with other musicians and recording a lot of material, the best of which can now be found on the disc. The mentioned friends include a fellow member of Einstürzende Neubauten (Andrew Chudy), a guru of maladjusted sounds (J.G. Thirlwell of Foetus), Vinnie Signiorelli of recently resurrected noise core heroes Unsane and, incredible but true, Italian Soft Rock legend Gianna Nannini. A fascinating cast of underground and experimental stars, therefore, and the album is sure to get some great promition, as it will be released on Billy Gould's Kool Arrow label, himself some sort of a legend as a former member of now deceased rock band Faith no More. The MP3s on the label-homepage promise a suprisingly accesible listening experience with diverse cultural influences, great grooves and strong hooks.
