ch Classical Klezmer

A new approach to a traditional kind of music

The Jewish traditional music of Klezmer is quickly regaining popularity - rightly so. Only shortly after Michael Tilson Thomas announced his personal visit down Memory Lane with "Thomaskefskys Music and Memories of a Life in the Yiddish Theatre", Jack Säuberli is leading it into a bright new future. Säuberli (English speakers are advised to not even try to pronounce his name) is a Swiss composer, arranger and - as you might have guessed - fan with a mission. His idea is to present Klezmer as played by Symphonic Brass Orchestras, blending the old with the new and spicing things up in an unexpected way. On his homepage, you can listen to all titles of a CD encompassing a wide range of titles and order sheet music to start playing the stuff with your friends. And judging from what we heard, that promises to be a lot of fun!
