And then there were three

Good news from independent record giant SPV and their subsidiary revisited records: They have just dispatched the third round of re-releases by German electronic master Klaus Schulze to shops in Europe. Another four albums are now available as beautiful digipacks and including some highly interesting bonus tracks.
"Audentity" is probably the only truly essential work of the pack and contains some of his best music from the difficult 80s. In a sense, this is his second "x" and a great overview of the diverse styles Schulze is capable of. A wonderful way to start your journey into his world and now featuring "Gem", a nearly one-hour long addition.
"Body Love", meanwhile, is the soundtrack to a 70s porn movie - even though you couldn't tell from listening to the music. Some excellent sequencer-driven tracks and the dream-like "Blanche" make for an intensive listening experience.
Rock singer Arthur Brown guests on "Dune", which is the first Schulze-album to feature vocals - an interesting parallel to his friends and collegues of Tangerine Dream, who relases their little-loved "Cyclone" almost at the same time and invited Steve Jolliffe over for some singing as well. With Wolfgang Tiepold plaing cello on the title track, one of his most important collaborator for the next decade is officially introduced.
Finally, "Miditerranean Pads" opens the door to the sampling-phase of Schulze. Just a little too complacent and too relaxed for its own good, this is the only of these four albums you will only need to buy if you're a completist. Still, it doesn't come without its moments and is historically important, as it covered the ground for future master pieces such as "Beyond Recall" and "In Blue".
