Celer: Love and Quietude.

The duo of Danielle Baquet-Long and Will Long were more than just a highly talented Ambient-act. Composed of finely-woven drones, discreet field recordings and the gently-distilled harmonics of acoustic instruments, their music was poetry expressing itself through sound. Their rise from self-produced print runs to acclaimed releases with some of the most renowned labels of the Drone- and Ambient-scene solely took place on the strength of their imagination and without any kind of big marketing ploys. 36 full-lengths within five years are testimony to an endless urge to create and their unfaltering faith in a neverending well of inspiration originating in their love for each other. Celer were also a symbol for all who, in their heart of hearts, still hoped one could build a „career“ as an artist without sacrificing ones ideals. The untimely passing of Danielle on July 8th as the result of a heart failure put an end to this vision. In this special, we take a look back at the duo's gradual ascension, their constantly changing compositional approaches and at highlights from their proliferously burgeoning discography, which will continue to grow beyond the tragic events: About 25 as yet unpublished Celer releases are still planned in the future.
