england Review/ Waylander: "Honour Amongst Chaos"

A celebration: Pure folk enchantment blended with aggression.
Imagine yourself the chieftain of a celtic tribe; surrounded by your brotherhood, covered with body paint, ready to fight the enemy. It is a sunny day, the wind caresses your face, you have no fear, here on this green battelfield; it is a bit cold but the only thing that you feel is pride and strenght! Fight for your clan!

Waylander hails from the UK and has been part of the Pagan scene for quite some time. Formed in 1993, the band plays witty and a well controlled Folk Metal. Braveheart fans will find a few similarities to the original soundtrack of the movie on “Beyond the ninth Gaels”, while metal fans will appreciate great guitars solos and riffs flirting with Iron Maiden´s best at times. The rest is pure folk enchantment blended with aggression.

I haven’t listened to Pagan Folk Metal for ages, but a song like “As the deities clash” is a celebration, a clear invitation to be part of the Waylander clan.

Freeeeeeeeeeeedom!
