se Review/ Marionette: "Spite"

Everything it takes: Marionette could quickly become a point of reference for others.
I am really getting the feeling that everyone in Sweden has a Metal band. It is hard to believe that such a “tiny” country is producing so many good formations.

And once again, Marionette it is a really impressive one. Ok, they  have all of the ingredients required for success, including a well known local producer, as well as two members from Sonic Syndicate, a swedish grammy award winner. In a similar vein, “Spite” is Marionette´s  debut album, but its members, despite their young age, are highly experienced and should not be confused for newcomers.

The music and the singing are aggressive, the fast drums add more weight, and some clear chantings like in Dimmu Borgir´s Spritual Black dimension, bring a special touch to the compositions which tend to have an experimental edge at times. Marionette are walking in the footsteps of this new Metal scene started by bands like Threat Signal (from Canada), In Flames (from Sweden again!!!) and want to be its spearhead. They have everything it takes to get there.

Despite their “teenager” looks, which could be compared to German bands Tokio Hotel and Cinema Bizarre, Marionette could quickly become a point of reference for others over the next years. The 2nd album and their live performances around the world will be a test of their abilities. I do hope they won´t let this new fan down.
