be Review/ Amenra: "Mass III"

A heavy evasion: Slow, depressive, dark instrumental passages.
Mass III is the second official full-length album by Amenra, a Belgian band founded nine years ago (discounting the self-released "Mass II" and demo cd "Mass I"). Slow, depressive, dark instrumental passages closely bordering oppression delineate Amenra´s world. Adding to this this downbound  music, anguished screams come welling up from nowhere.

In my opinion, this album would sound even better without vocals, as they sometimes tend to breaks the omnipresent and heavy suicidal feeling (or it may just save you from cutting your veins).

The lyrics are unrecognizable, but from the titles and the music one can expect them to be of a deep nature, expressing an inner mal être.

This band would have deserved a much better sound in oder to fully get their dark art across - it must be a unique experience to see them perform live. Amenra presents us with a heavy, dark evasion to the world of madness.
