In our search for interesting websites, we have stumbled across a truly great one: Discover Classics is a page that not only has a great idea behind it, but also a team dedicated enough to to put it into action. The makers of the site have correctly analised that despite its often rich reservoire of talent, many emerging markets face problems establishing their artists on a global scale. Costs and limitated media access have been the problem, mainly, and the fact that personal contacts are harder to establish only exacerbates things. That's why Discover Classics has started off with presenting Russian artists and will continue to feature musicians from countries that as yet might not have left their mark on the Classical scene. They are using the Internet to full effect: There's an own radio station, links to artists' home pages, extensive coverage on their biographies and a wide range of freely available downloads for your pleasure. Discover Classics also offers master classes by acclaimed pianist Natalia Troull and you can follow a Virtual Masterclass programme. To wrap things up, there's a great and extensive list of links to some excellent Internet resources on Classical Music.
