There are festivals presenting classical music abound but there is hardly one that can match Braunschweig's Classix Festival when it comes to diversity. Naturally, the event features the regular program of classical stars, with Diana Damrau (Vocal), Michael Collins (Clarinet), Hakan Hardenberger (Trumpet) Leonidas Kavakos (Violin) Krzysztof Penderecki and Christian Thielemann (Conductors) attending. But there's more: BS Energy will sponsor a classical tour of local schools, which will bring the music directly to pupils. Also, there's a competition for singers, which is already on its way, which will be finalised during the festival days and which claims to feature a "Prominent jury". Finally, in autumn, there will be an open air and even more concerts as a sort of "afterthought" to the spectacle. Proceedings will officialy begin on May 22nd.
