The Brits hit the Screen

In a first statement, some of the artists performing at this year's Classical Brit Awards have been announced. Nicola Benedetti (already elected Young Musician of the Year by the BBC) will be attending, as will Anna Netrebko (Soprano of the Year, inofficially), Julian Lloyd Webber (one of the most active talents over the last years) and composer Karl Jenkins (who, if you should not know it, is the man behind Adiemus and 70s band Soft Machine). The show will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on May 25th, 2005. The nominations for categories such as "Female artist of the Year", "Ensemble of the Year" and "Album of the Year" will be announced shortly and there will be an entirely new award for the composer of the best Soundtrack. As far as we know, tickets are still available and range from 15 to 60 Pounds.
