After a career of nearly 20 years, #1 Albums on Billboards Classical Charts and selling over a million copies of their albums, American vocal ensemble Anonymous 4 went for a "soft split", with individual members pursuing their own interests. The last CD recorded for their label Harmonia Mundi is now available for the public and features works by Hildegard von Bingen, who is witnessing a remarkable surge in public interest. The theme of "The Origin of Fire" is said to be the transforming power of the "Fiery Spirit" and its mystical gifts of Wisdom and Love. It is already the second time, Anonymous 4 dedicate a CD to von Bingen, as "11.000 Virgins" (also available as a SACD) went the same route. In the USA, "Origin of Fire" is already well on the way of repeating previous successes, so it looks like this is an all-smiles goodbye.
