ru Anna unhappy

...with two new biographies

Who's that kindly smiling peasant girl on the photo? It's Anna Netrebko, who now prefers to wear diamond rings and extravagant dresses. Or does she? Really, in our eyes, Anna Anetrebko is just a modern Opera singer who possesses the gift of gab and a special "star quality" that is hard to pin down. Some people think otherwise and that's why two books have now been published on the Russian singer. The first is called "Opera Star of a New Generation", written by Gregor Dolak, reporter to German popular News Weekly Focus. The second one merely comes with the title "A Portrait" and was edited by journalist Marianne Reissinger. Both have already been slashed by the German media: The "Hamburger Abendblatt" mocks Reissingers simplistic fan-ism and Dolaks meagre display of intellect, characterising his book as "the low-point of journalism".
The "Berliner Morgenpost" worries about Netrebko and the fact that the real person is increasingly clouded by a halo of speculation and a lot of bla bla. Their article also reminds everyone that as glamorous as Netrebkos current life may be, her ten years of practise and the lonely hours in the hotel room are not - and while she is parading in front of the photographers, the next star is already waiting to claim her throne.
Anna herself has been just as outspoken on the many pages devoted to her, calling some of the reported remarks "Absolute bullshit" (excuse us). She also stated that the time she would start writing a book about herself would be the time she had reached "the end".

In other recent news, Netrebko can be seen in TV-Spots on German Television for Mobile Phone Operator o2.
